Christine Wright - CA, BCom (Hons)

Christine Wright is the founder and Managing Director of Blueberry Consulting.  Christine is a highly competent Chartered Accountant with over 17 years of experience in financial analysis, business planning, insurance claim preparation, management accounting and auditing.  She is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and holds a Bachelor of Commerce with First Class Honours from the University of Otago (where she graduated first in her class).

Christine is highly skilled and experienced in financial analysis and financial modelling.  She has been extensively involved in discounted cash flow modelling (to assess the feasibility of and evaluate competing projects), the development of short and long term forecasting models, profitability analysis and the development of pricing tariffs to ensure a satisfactory return on investment is received.  She also regularly provides support to businesses by assessing the financial impact of proposed labour changes (such as restructuring and changes to Collective Employment Agreements).

Since the devastating Canterbury earthquakes of 2010 and 2011, Christine has been heavily involved in assisting businesses with insurance claim preparation.  From 2011 - 2013 she played a key role in the compilation of the Business Interruption, Material Damage and Contract Works claims of the Lyttelton Port Company.  Christine also completed the Business Interruption claims for a number of hotels, manufacturers and investment properties and assisted the Christchurch City Council with their earthquake claims process.  In 2014, Christine was engaged to complete an independent review of some 60 loss of business claims resulting from the grounding of the vessel 'MV Rena' on the Astrolabe Reef.

Christine is experienced in strategy and business planning, including the development of a company’s vision and strategy, the assessment and prioritisation of projects, development of business cases and the identification and monitoring of key performance measures.

Christine has significant experience in the Port and Shipping industry having worked at the Lyttelton Port Company for around six years where she held a number of roles including Business Analyst, Business Analysis Manager and Strategy and Planning Manager.  She is also experienced in the education, hospitality, telecommunications, insurance and fishing industries.

Christine is a personable, energetic and highly motivated worker who is quick to rise to a challenge.
